Tomi Adeyemi’s ‘Children Of Blood And Bone’ To Be Scripted By A Nigerian-American Writer
Kay Oyegun, a Nigerian-American writer got the deal to create a new script for the movie of the epic fantasy novel, Children of Blood and Bone.
Kay Oyegun, known for her work on “This is US”, is an upcoming star writer.
The 31-year-old screenwriter was given the “Best Writing in a Dramatic Series” award at the 50th edition of the NAACP awards this year, for her NBC series “This is US”.
She is attached to Rick Famuyiwa who happens to be the director of the screen adaptation of the Children of Blood and Bone movie.
Children of Blood and Bone follows Zélie Adebola, who watched her mother get murdered when she was six years old.
Zélie finally has a chance to make things right ten years after the raid that made her an orphan and banished magic from her people.
Adeyemi’s sequel, Children of Virtue and Vengeance, should be published later on this year.
